The Water team is experienced in 3-water infrastructure modelling, flood assessments, catchment planning, design and engineering consents.
The team includes Engineers competent in design using Civil 3D/12D and modelling using our packages include InfoWorks ICM, MIKE by DHI, HEC-RAS, HEC HMS, Epanet.
WatRes is founded by Ajay Desai who is a Chartered Civil Engineer with International experience working for various clients in New Zealand, United Kingdom and United Arab Emirates.
The team particularly has experience at working with large scale land-use projects and interactions that occur with local and regional authorities.
Ajay is an experienced Civil Engineer and his International experience Civil design and hydraulic modelling brings in an understanding of best practices all around the world in the Civil industry.

MANAGEMENT
Manage all contracts with all suppliers and contractors on behalf of the client
PAYMENTS
Review and pay invoices from suppliers and contracts on behalf of the client where agreed
SHORTLISTING SUPPLIERS & CONTRACTORS
Work with the client to shortlist any required supplier, contractor, etc for the build
SITE SUPERVISION
Site visits and/or updates on the phone with the builder which can be conveyed back to the client at least three times a week and as and when needed

Ajay Desai
Principal Civil Engineer
Ajay is a Chartered Professional Engineer with specialised skills in civil design and modelling. He has global experience working in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates.
He has been instrumental in preparing numerous catchment management plans and infrastructure reports for private clients as well as for district and regional councils. His extensive knowledge of consent processes helps clients to prepare accurate, complete and timely documentation.
Ajay is an expert user of a variety of design and modelling packages as well as spatial analytical skills in which he manipulates large volumes of geospatial data using Excel and geographic information systems (GIS).
He is one of our most experienced engineers across the water and transport sector and provides technical review to multiple Councils in New Zealand.
Ajay has experience in providing expert evidence in the Environment Court and other Council hearings.
